Registered Veterinary Technician

Carol

Carol joined Eagle Animal Hospital & Pet Resort’s team in 2010. She has worked as a kennel assistant, pet daycare manager, and veterinary assistant before deciding to go back to school to become a registered technician. Carol’s responsibilities include assisting the veterinarians with procedures and patient care, surgery and anesthetic monitoring, dentistry, bandage care,  and phlebotomy. She also teaches yoga at In Bliss Yoga.

“My favorite aspects of this job are anesthesia monitoring and phlebotomy. But the people I work with make this the best job in the world,” she says.

Carol holds an A.A.S. degree in Veterinary Technology from Maple Woods and a Bachelor’s degree in animal science with a minor in captive wild animal management from the University of Missouri. She also interned as a zookeeper at Dickerson Park Zoo during the summer of 2012.

At home, Carol cares for a Morkie named Minnie and a terrier mix named Elphaba. Carol also has a cat named Flapjack, that she adopted while attending the veterinary technician program at Maple Woods. She spends her free time doing ashtanga yoga and is an advocate for body positivity and eating disorder recovery. She also ushers at her church on Saturday evenings and loves “all things Star Wars.”
