We welcomed Shelby to our team February 2020. Shelby attended the Bel-Rea Institute of Animal Technology in Denver, Colorado and graduated with an Associate Degree in Animal Science in 2018 and became certified soon thereafter. She is also registered in Missouri and Kansas. Shelby started in the veterinary field as a kennel technician while she attended school and has four years of veterinary related experience. After school, Shelby worked at a specialty center in the Neurology Department. She was responsible for assisting the doctors in neurological exams, MRI’s, and surgeries. Shelby is currently working on her Bachelors in Veterinary Technology. Some of Shelby’s as a registered tech include assisting the veterinarian in procedures, treatments, and surgery; monitoring anesthesia; radiology; and diagnostic testing.

She shares, “I want to not only become more knowledgeable in my job but being able to provide better care for animals makes my days more fulfilling.”

Shelby always has a willingness to learn and is always the first one to jump in to help.

Shelby loves all things plants and has really developed a green thumb. She also enjoys exploring bike trails with her boyfriend. Shelby is a “certified cat lady” with 4 kitties now. George is a black and white domestic long hair, Gil is an orange and white Domestic Shorthair, and Ringo a Flame point Siamese, and Mowgli; Eddie the Pug, and 2 snakes. They all are quite spoiled!
