Nicki

Practice Manager

Nicki first joined Eagle Animal Hospital & Pet Resort when she was 17 years old, as a kennel attendant in 1974. The next year, she took on the role of receptionist and was an integral member of the veterinary hospital staff for the next decade.

Nicki returned to Eagle Animal Hospital as practice manager in August of 2002.

Nicki oversees the operations of the hospital and keeps the animal care team working together at all times. She handles accounts payable and receivable, payroll, administrative support, customer service, and human resources. She holds an Associate’s degree in business from Maple Woods Community College.

Nicki most enjoys the relationships she has developed with clients and staff and the wonderful pets and people she has met. “We have caring and compassionate people in the veterinary profession,” she says.

At home, Nicki has a Sheltie named Holly and enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending quality time with her family.

Jenna

Practice Manager

Jenna joined our Client Care Team in June of 2014. You may recognize her from our Riverside location. She spent 7 years at our front desk, as a receptionist, greeting all the clients and their pets. As part of Eagle Animal Hospital & Pet Resort’s commitment to customer service, she is always attentive when it comes to the needs of our clients. Jenna joined Eagle’s management team as Assistant Hospital Manager in 2022. You will still see Jenna greet you in addition to her HR responsibilities. 

At Eagle, interacting with the clients and establishing relationships have become the best part of her job. “It’s really that extra time you get learning to know about a client’s pet and why they make them happy. It makes me happy!” 

Jenna does a great job keeping the team’s culture! “We are a close group,” she says. “Friends outside of work as well as during working hours. We are one big family and love having fun.” 

When not at Eagle, Jenna’s spare time is spent with her young son, going to dinner/movies with friends, binge watching Netflix, and family dinners. She has a domestic long hair cat named Cruiser whom she is very attached to.

Registered Veterinary Technician

Amy joined the Eagle team March 2021. She came to Eagle with over 14 years of veterinary experience. Amy began her education in Broadcasting, obtained a Bachelor’s of Science from Northwest Missouri State University. Her interest in veterinary medicine sparked a change in her career path. She attended the Veterinary Technician program at Maple Woods graduating in 2010. As a registered technician, she is responsible for assisting the veterinarians by performing diagnostics, IV catheter placement, drawing blood, x-rays, dental cleanings, and anesthesia monitoring.

“I try to keep a positive attitude which hopefully helps keep the work environment less stressful for coworkers and our patients. I love learning from my fellow technicians and doctor’s skills I can use to become better in my profession.”

Amy has been the Treasurer of the Kansas City Registered Veterinary Technician Association since 2014. When ask what makes Eagle unique from other hospitals, she shares, “I enjoy the team environment from the other techs, receptionists, assistants, and doctors. And I love that I am able to utilize my skills on a daily basis.”

In Amy’s free time she enjoys reading, biking, and spending time at the lake. She has a yellow Lab/Shar Pei mix named Zeta. In the past, Amy also did agility with her Boxer mix Luigi. He was especially good at his tunnels and jumps.

Registered Veterinary Technician

We welcomed Crystal to Eagle Animal Hospital May 2022. She has been a great addition. Crystal graduated from the Veterinary Technician Program at Maple Woods with an Associates in Biology and Applied Science in 2009. Before becoming a registered veterinary technician, she worked as a kennel and vet assistant, bringing over 7 years of experience with her. Crystal is responsible for patient care, running bloodwork, and reading cytologies, to name a few. But her favorite part of the job is phlebotomy and radiographs.

Crystal loves to be organized which is always helpful in this field. “I am very passionate about veterinary medicine and pour my heart into being my patient’s advocate. Being at Eagle has allowed me to continue to work with doctors who practice quality medicine. Eagle made me feel welcome right away!”

In Crystal’s past time she loved to do agility, horseback riding, and help at the farm. These days she is busy watching her two boys play baseball and soccer. She enjoys time with her husband and going to Royals games, playing board/card games, watching movies, and boating. She also calls Rusty, the Australian Shepherd mix, Scout the terrier mix, Seiko the Golden Retriever, Radar the Golden Retriever, and Sammie Jo the American Quarter Horse part of the family!!

Veterinary Assistant

Our Eagle team welcomed Jen March 2021 with the opening of our Liberty location. Jen comes to Eagle with over 8 years of experience. You will find her behind the desk as a receptionist and behind the scenes as an assistant as well! Jen responsibilities as an assistant are assisting the veterinarians and technicians, filling medications, trimming nails, running bloodwork, and taking xrays. As a receptionist you will find her answering the phone, checking in and checking out clients, and putting you and your pets in the exam rooms for the doctors.

Jen brings a positive attitude to Eagle making a fun work environment. She also has great organizational skills helping keep our clinic in order! When asked what makes Eagle unique from previous clinics, she shares, “Eagle has a great staff and co-workers! It’s a fun environment to work and they give the best possible care to their patients!”

“The best part of my job is…. absolutely the puppies! I can’t help it. But I also like nail trims. So, you know who to ask for!”

In Jen’s free time she enjoys gardening, hiking, and being a mom to her two awesome kids. Jen has a house full of pets. She has three dogs, Jones a Pit Bull, Minnie Peral a Rat Terrier, and Hank, the German Shepard Mix. She also has two cats, Cash and George.

Evelyn

Evelyn

Client Care Team member

Evelyn joined the Eagle team in July 2023. She is new to this field but has jumped right in and is a great learner! Evelyn is one of the first faces you will see when coming into Eagle at Liberty. She checks clients in and out, answers phones, scans/faxes medical records, takes prescription requests, and keeps rooms and the lobby clean.

Evelyn is very patient and caring. She brings a sense of calm to all the pets she meets. “I love doing everything my job requires me to do. Helping make sure clients have their questions answered is very important to me.” Evelyn has been helping pets since she was little, always picking that stray dog up and nursing them back to health or finding their owners.

“I love working at Eagle at Liberty because everyone is so welcoming and friendly. Even being new to the animal hospital, I have been welcomed. It makes it very easy to work as a team and learn. I already know clients are receiving the best care out there at Eagle!”

In Evelyn’s free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, dancing, painting, and watching cooking shows. She likes to spend time with friends and making memories. Evelyn has a Blue Parakeet named Tiny and a Rottweiler/Lab mix named Biggie Smalls.

Kaylese

Client Care Team member

We welcomed Kaylese to the Eagle team in July 2023. Kaylese started in this field as a kennel attendant, then moved to a receptionist/veterinary assistant position. She has over 5 years of experience. Some of Kaylese responsibilities include greeting clients and their pets, checking them out at the end of their visit, putting patients in a room to see the doctor, answering questions from clients on the phone and in person, and keeping our lobby looking amazing. Kaylese has finished some college and plans to go back to pursue a veterinary technology degree.

Kaylese has always had a desire to be in this profession since she was a little girl. She shares, I have learned so much and felt so welcomed in the short time that I have been here. I knew it was the right fit. I love being able to visit with clients and their pets. They are like family to us too!”

When not working, Kaylese enjoys spending time with her daughter, riding ATVs with her family and spending time with her animals on the weekends. She has a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Boba Fett, a cat named Luna, and lots of cows, goats, chickens, pigeons, and a donkey.
